NDIS Verification

What is NDIS Verification?

NDIS Verification is a process through which providers offering lower-risk services to NDIS participants demonstrate their compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards. It involves submitting evidence of policies, procedures, and practices in key areas such as human resources, risk management, complaints handling, and incident management. This process is tailored for providers delivering services like home maintenance, transport, therapeutic supports, or assistive product sales. By completing the verification process, providers ensure they meet the required standards to deliver safe and high-quality support to participants.

NDIS Verification Audits

If you provide lower-risk services to NDIS-funded participants, completing an NDIS verification audit with an Approved Quality Auditor (AQA), such as Canopus Consultants, is a key step in becoming a registered provider. Lower-risk services include:

  • Gardening and home maintenance
  • Transport and travel assistance
  • Therapeutic supports, including psychological and allied health services
  • The sale of assistive products, such as wheelchairs and hearing aids

To determine which types of service providers can be registered through a Verification Audit, refer to the [NDIS Commission’s Registration Requirements document (PDF)](insert link). If you deliver higher-risk or more complex services, learn more about our NDIS Certification Audits.

A NDIS Verification Audit involves an auditor assessing key aspects of your business processes, including:
